We have been learning all about Bonfire night and the history behind this day. We explored new vocabulary and made actions to help us retell the story. This was a prime opportunity to study all about safety and how we can take precautions on this day. This tied in really well with learning all about Firefighters and their role within our community. We particularly enjoyed making our firework rockets and chocolate apples. The apples were really yummy!
Pandas had so much fun learning all about Diwali and how this is celebrated. We learned all about the traditions of exchanging gifts and money, similar to other celebrations. We also had fun making Rangoli designs, Diya lights, Henna patterns, dressing up and finally learning traditional dances. We listened to traditional music all day long! To end the day, we tried Poppadoms with mint and sweet chili sauce we had so much fun exploring new food.
We worked together to explore the history of Remembrance Day and why this is extremely important to everyone. We watched the Cbeebies video to help explain this to the children and made poppies to show that we are thinking about all the lives lost in the war. The children were very proud of their creations!
Lest we forget!
Children in Need Day
Panda class had a fantastic day filled with lots of fun and creative activities. We spent time thinking and talking about how lucky we are to have as much as we do and we thought about the children who are not as fortunate as we are. To help raise money for Children in Need we purchased wrist bands and badges. In addition to this, brought raffle tickets as the school received a donation of knitted toys. What a brilliant end to the week!
