At our Church of England school, our Christian ethos sits at the heart of school life, guiding our values and sense of community. At the same time, we recognise, value and respect the many faiths represented across the world. Through our curriculum, assemblies and wider school experiences, pupils learn about different beliefs and traditions, developing understanding, tolerance and respect for others. By exploring both shared values and differences, we aim to nurture open-minded, thoughtful individuals who appreciate diversity and contribute positively to modern British society.

We understand the importance of regularly exposing our pupils to major world religions to ensure their knowledge is remembered and reinforced over time. Our RE curriculum is carefully planned to track when each religion is revisited, allowing pupils to build a deep and lasting understanding. Please see the image below for an overview.

Each half term, we focus on a different major world religion during our assemblies, with pupils taking part in six assemblies throughout the half term. This approach allows them to explore beliefs, traditions, and values in depth. Please find the overview below.
