Ripley Academy
2014-15
This year, like many years previously, we have been fortunate enough to have had Young Leaders in from Ripley Academy to run after school clubs for the KS2 children. We have had 10 leaders in from the Academy and they have run clubs in Hockey, Netball and TAG Rugby.
It is a fantastic link which we hope will continue and is a great opportunity for the children both at Ripley Academy and here at Codnor to learn new skills and hopefully to help with the transition for those children moving on to Ripley Academy.
Y4-6 Tag Rugby Leaders
Ripley Academy also run Sports Festivals for Years 1 & 2; 3 & 4; and 5 & 6 where the children visit Ripley Academy along with other local schools to take part in different activities set up and managed by the Young Leaders there. Once again it is a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience and also allows them to see what it is like to be a Sports Leader at the next stage of their education and allows them to experience the environment before they attend the Academy in their senior years.
