  • Upper School Heating

    Mon 28 Feb 2022

Dear parents. The bad news is that today our upper school boiler has literally blown a gasket. We are hopeful that this will be repaired within the next couple of days. In order to avoid closing the upper school, we are asking you to please send your child warmly dressed (e.g. an extra warm fleece, and for outside, gloves, scarf and hat). We will keep windows closed, otherwise it would be too cold to stay open. Lower school heating is OK, but please be mindful that lower school children will eat their lunch in the upper school hall, so may need a warm fleece.

UPDATE: The heating is now repaired.

  • Parents' Evening Survey

    Tue 15 Feb 2022
Dear all. We'd really like your opinions on this week's Parents' Evenings, if you have a minute. We'll use your responses to continue to improve our Parents' Evenings as a part of ongoing school development. There's a short survey at the link here. Thank you if you're able to do this. It would help us a lot! 👍🙂
  • Parents' Evening

    Tue 08 Feb 2022

Parents Evenings are on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th February. We are going to try holding them in school, with the following steps in place to help keep everyone as safe as possible:

    • You can book a 10-minute slot by emailing the teacher with the approximate time you would like to visit, and the teacher will reply with the exact time. You can also speak to the teacher at the end of the school day.
    • Please only enter the building using the entrance/exit shown on the map below and at the time of your appointment. We will leave a 5-minute gap between appointments to limit queues and groups of parents crossing over, and to enable parents to get between entrances if they have children in more than one class.
    • So that the 5-minute gap works, appointments will be limited to 10 minutes and we will have to be precise with the timings. The teacher will use a timer. Please don’t think that the teacher is being rude when the time is up, it’s just that they need to clear the classroom for the next appointment. If you wish to carry on the conversation, you are welcome to arrange a follow-up phone call – see below.
    • Children will take their books home on Friday 11th February to give you a chance to have a look at them. If they could bring them back on the morning of Monday 14th February that would be appreciated, as they will need to use them in school.
    • The teacher will be sitting away from parents at a different table.
    • Mask-wearing is at parents' and teachers' discretions.

If you cannot make the Monday/Tuesday, or you do not feel that an in-person appointment is right for you at the moment, or you are running late for your appointment, you can email the teacher to arrange a phone call on a mutually convenient day and time:

  • Mental Health Week - Update

    Sun 06 Feb 2022
Dear all. This week is Children's Mental Health Week. Here's a pic of our children having a story and hot chocolate outside around the fire pit. 🔥☕️ The week will finish with a non-uniform day on Friday 11th Feb (no money required, thanks) with the theme of 'dress to express' - clothing which helps children to feel comfortable or show something they enjoy doing.
