  • Merry Christmas!

    Wed 21 Dec 2022
Merry Christmas, all! 🎄 Especially after previous years’ lockdowns and restrictions, it’s been brilliant to have so many of you in school at our events, and to see you at events organised by our community.

It’d be impossible to list them all! So let’s try! (Deep breath...) We’ve had Nativities from Early Years and Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 Carols Around the Tree today, a carol service at St James, Codnor Parish Council's lovely Carol Concert on the market place, Christmas Craft Day, The Poet and Castle's Craft Fair, Codnor Community Group's Christmas Market, Christmas jumper days, class parties, Children’s Christmas Panto and pressies organised by Friends of Codnor Primary School, a Christmas Fair, Christmas Film Night, Christmas discos, Christmas dinner, visits from Santa... AND our school choir singing at many events including at Tesco Express, who help our school in lots of ways... That's quite a list, so apologies if we've missed anyone out!

Thanks to all of you in our community for making this Christmas special, and for your support. ❤️ Best wishes from all of us here at school. Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here’s to 2023! 👍
  • Fundraising Thanks!

    Wed 14 Dec 2022

We had to post to say two huge thanks. 👍 THANK YOU to The Poet and Castle and their brilliant Craft Sellers for donating £110 from their first Craft Fair to our school! That was extremely kind and generous. ❤️ THANK YOU also to our whole community and Friends of Codnor for raising £1200 at the Christmas Fair. This is spent on things which directly benefit our children (e.g. Christmas panto and pressies). Our fabulous community at work again, and you are all very appreciated. 🙂

  • Christmas Fair Thanks!

    Thu 08 Dec 2022

Thank you to our community for making the Christmas Fair a success. 👍 From those who donated prizes to those who helped to set up, run the event, and clear up afterwards, we had a great deal of support. Thanks to all who were able to come along. Must also add that we’re very proud of our choir, who beat the nerves and sang beautifully! ❤️ One member of staff who hasn’t been with us very long said, “There’s such a lovely community spirit here.” Well put!! Thank you again 🙂

  • 'Strep Throat' Information

    Tue 06 Dec 2022

Dear parents. Following our letter about 'Strep Throat' or 'Strep A' last week, we've put some information and a link to the HSA together here, including when children should be kept off school, and for how long.

  • Class Christmas Parties

    Sun 04 Dec 2022

Party time! Here are the dates and arrangements for the class Christmas parties this year.

    • Arrangements and activities for each class are different, depending on what the teacher and children want to do.
    • Each class will send a letter to parents to let them know what will be happening on their party day.
    • Children will not need to bring any party food, as the parties happen before or after lunch. Lunchtime arrangements are unchanged, so those who bring a packed lunch should do so as normal, and those who have school dinners will have their dinner as normal.
    • Children are welcome to come to school in their party clothes on the morning of their party day.
    • All Nursery children will be having their party on the morning of Tuesday 20th December, so all Nursery children (whether morning, afternoon, or 30 hours) are welcome to attend the morning session.
