When the weather hits hard, we try to stay open if we can because we're well aware of the disruption that school closures causes for families. The safety of our children, staff and community has to come first, though, and we'll let you know about any closures as soon as we can. If we can make the decision the evening before then we'll do that, as parents have said they would like an early decision whenever possible to help them plan childcare. Early closure decisions are always a risk for schools, however, in case of an unexpected thaw! Once the decision to close is made, though, we'll stick with it.
Please download the Parent Hub app (it's free) to stay informed in case school has to close due to the weather. If this happens, we'll also post a notification on the front page of our website.
If you don't hear anything via Parent Hub or our website, you're fine to assume that school is open as usual.
There are some remote learning activities available on our website at this link if children are in the mood for it - but playing out in the snow is a valuable experience too!
