Leadership: Offering all students a way to be recognised for their work in volunteering and leadership with a pathway for the best students to be given additional support

Club links: Sign posting our students to clubs both in and out of the borough in order for them to fulfil their potential

Legacy: Providing oportunities for students to retain their excitement surrounding London 2012

Amber Valley School Sport Partnership have been in existance since 2005. Previously funded by central government as part of the Physical Education and School Sport Strategy for Young People, the SSP were tasked to increase the number of young people accessing 2 hours of High Quality PE.

Following the Spending Review the programme has been funded in a reduced capacity in a national programme called School Games. School Games aims to provide young people with the ‘multi sport’ central Olympic themed competition.

Whilst the SSP deliver on the School Games they are also invovled in supporting the secondary schools and their Teacher Release posts to develop opportunities for more young people to access physical activity and sport. In addition work with leadership and club development are also a focus.

The SSP also manage the Sportivate programme which is a national programme for 14-25 year olds across Amber Valley, deliver on the national bikeability programme plus many more aspects of physical activity.
