For our first performance, it was nice to be able to sing in the friendly and familiar setting of our school hall. The lower school choir performed (brilliantly) first, and then we (nervously) took to the stage with three of our songs. The hall was packed with friends, family and our local community, and it went really well! Phew!
If anyone has any pictures of this event (Mr Blake and Mr Buckle were very busy!), would you mind
sending them to our email address or bringing them into school on a USB stick or camera? We'd love to put them on this page! Thanks!!
We were kindly invited to perform in this fantastic setting. The choir took to the 'great staircase' (and it is great!) to sing two 30-minute sets. For a bit of Christmas cheer, we added 'Frosty the Snowman' and 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland' to the choir songs we'd been learning.
Thanks to parents, relatives and friends for coming to watch, and to members of the public who said some lovely things about our children and their singing. One lady (who was visiting Sudbury Hall with her family) said, "They're super! You must be very proud of them." I hope you're reading this, choir people! We're proud of you guys!!
Thanks to Joel and his mum for the pictures!
It looked unlikely at 3PM, but the rain managed to hold off for this great annual event. The Heage Band provided music, and our local community turned out to sing carols and celebrate Christmas in style! We sang two of our choir songs, and a nice hot cup of tea and mince pies awaited revellers at the Methodist Chapel afterwards. Lovely!
To round off a super year, the choir performed in school on 18th December. Each year, Carols Around the Tree features singing and other musical items from all of our children - including our great instrumentalists: masters of the violin, piano and bells! There was also a brilliant poetry reading and performance from our Poetry Competition Champion! We want to thank everyone who came along, packed out the hall, and enjoyed mince pies and a cup of tea! Same time next year?
