Thanks for all the donations for Comic Relief! Our children were invited to wear non-uniform and 'make their face funny for money' for a voluntary donation to Comic Relief. There were games, stalls selling different items, sponsored silences and children using their creative and imaginative ways to raise as much money as they could. What a fantastic event! It all finished with a bit of bingo! frown

  • Y3/4 Basketball Competition

    Wed 28 Jan 2015

On Tuesday night, ten of our children attended a Sainsbury's School Games Basketball Competition (organised by the Amber Valley School Partnership) at Aldercar Community Language College.

After initially turning up as one team, the organisers asked if we would be able to play as two teams as another team did not turn up! We agreed and therefore all 10 players had lots of game time to show off their skills.

Both teams showed tremendous team work and determination in all of their games, but also showed great respect to other competitors. As the competition progressed, the teams improved greatly and both teams scored positive results. Codnor 'A' eventually finishing 3rd after two good wins and Codnor 'B'  finishing 5th.

The children impressed the organisers to such an extent that they won the Spirit of the Games Award, the 3rd such award the school has achieved  this school year. The award is given to a school upholding the values of Respect, Determination, Self-Belief, Teamwork, Passion and Honesty!

Well done to all who took part, and to all parents who came to cheer us on. You were a credit to our school!

  • Sportshall Plus 2015 Champions!

The children were a credit to the school and were determined to do their best, eventually running out  as winners of the Primary Competition! Well done to all.
