  • Virtual Harvest Festival

    Sat 24 Oct 2020

Here's a link to our first ever 'Virtual Harvest' - switch the sound up, and start with "Welcome!" There are some slideshows, poems, songs and more - including our super competition! It's not the same as being in the hall with the rest of our community, but we hope you enjoy it. Have a lovely half-term holiday. 🙂👍

  • Celebrations

    Mon 28 Sep 2020
At this time of year, we are normally planning our Harvest and Christmas celebrations. We’ve been doing these for years, and they’re great because they are a lovely way to get our community into school and enjoying the children’s performances and hard work! The situation means that we’ve had to rethink these for this year. We’re going to do them via a video on our website instead. We completely respect the decision of parents who don’t want their children pictured on the website, and we will ensure that those children are still actively involved, but not on camera. We’re also going to launch a family Harvest competition, with fabulous prizes! More information will follow soon.
  • Getting a Test

    Mon 07 Sep 2020
Just a quick one to let you know that we've updated our FAQs to include information about where and how to get a test locally, how to test a child with a home testing kit, and what to do about the result. The new section is marked in green text, so you don't have to read the whole thing again! It's a quick scroll down. Please select this link, and we hope this helps.
  • Welcome back!

    Wed 02 Sep 2020
Hello all. We’re so looking forward to welcoming you back tomorrow. All entrances have signs with the name of the class/teacher, and we have the site ready. We know some of you are concerned about your children returning, but you can be assured that all the necessary procedures are in place. We’re working to get back to some normality as quickly as possible. There’s another link to our FAQs here, and we’ve added a couple of bits after some parents’ useful questions. Thank you for your understanding and support during these strange times.
  • Reopening FAQs

    Wed 26 Aug 2020

Afternoon, all. With Autumn term a week away, we’re just writing to signpost you to our reopening FAQs at the link below. Also, in case some of you didn’t get chance to pick up your transition pack and school report, we’ll open the lower school hall on Weds 2nd Sept (inset day) between 9.30AM and 2.00PM. Very much looking forward to seeing you soon.

  • Transition Packs

    Sat 11 Jul 2020

You probably know that at this time of year, we hold transition days to allow the children to meet their new teachers for September. We can’t do these this year, so for children who are currently in year groups lower than Y6, teachers have put together some transition packs, welcoming their new class. The packs will also contain information about the ‘bubble’ arrangements, a shortened version of children’s school reports, and some activities for children to do over the holidays.

Y6 reports will be given out on the Y6 picnic, or posted to parents if their children are not attending.

In case there is a local lockdown of Derbyshire schools next year, we are putting in place a remote learning platform which will allow teachers to interact with children by setting them work and having children complete and submit this online. Teachers would be available to use this as they would not be in school and would be working from home. Our aim is to be able to switch to this system quickly in the event of a lockdown. We’ll have more information about this system soon.

Your child’s transition pack will be on a table in the lower school hall on Wednesday 15th July. The table will have the name of your child’s current teacher (not their teacher for next year).

For social distancing purposes, and to minimise contact with others, we have allocated the following rough times for you to pick these up. Packs for all classes will be available all day, so if you have two children in different classes, you can pick both of the packs up on the same trip.

If by mutual agreement, you are able to pick anyone else’s up (e.g. if they are self-isolating or at work), then that would be helpful.

    • 09.15AM – 10.15AM Nursery and Reception
    • 10.15AM – 11.15AM Mrs Rogers and Miss Wilson
    • 12.15PM – 13.15PM Miss Barton and Miss McKirdy
    • 13.45PM – 14.45PM Mr Buckle and Mrs Goodburn

If you really cannot make the time slot, then that’s not a problem – come up in the afternoon, but to keep everyone as safe as possible, please try to keep to the times if you can.

  • New Starters Info

    Fri 26 Jun 2020

For our new Nursery and Reception starters, Mrs Hobson has put together a page with loads of useful information. There is also an email address for you to ask any questions. Select this link.

  • Next Home-Learning Packs

    Sun 31 May 2020

We've made arrangements for you to pick up your child's next home-learning pack on Thursday 11th June. For social distancing purposes, and to minimise contact with others, we have allocated the following rough times for you to pick these up. Packs for all classes will be available all day, so if you have two children in different classes, you can pick both of the packs up on the same trip. Packs will be clipped together, so you can pop the new resources in your wallets.

    • 14.45PM – 15.45PM Mrs Hibbitt

With the weather being as changeable as it is at the moment, the packs will be on tables in the lower school hall. As usual, we will sanitise the hall at the end of the day.

If you really cannot make the time slot, then that’s not a problem – come up in the afternoon, but to keep everyone as safe as possible, please try to keep to the times if you can.

  • Reopening Information

    Thu 21 May 2020

The government has asked schools to plan for a reopening for children in Reception, Y1 and Y6 on June 1st, and then in the last month of term, to potentially expand that to the rest of the school. For a while, this is not going to be 'school as we know it', and as you have probably seen on the news, that is going to be the same for everyone across the country.

  • Survey - Returning to School?

    Tue 12 May 2020

Hello all. To help us to plan for a potential reopening to certain year groups on 1st June, we'd really appreciate it if you would complete a short survey (if you've not already done so). It'll only take a minute, and it's anonymous. Your thoughts would be very useful to us.
