• Y3/4 Gymnastics Runners-Up!

  On Tuesday night, it was the turn of our Y3 and 4 gymnasts to compete for the title of Amber Valley Champions. Our six children showed off their super vaulting skills first, followed by their fantastic floor exercise and finally their brilliant body management routine. All of our children did our school proud with their effort, technique and behaviour. This resulted in a superb second place, beaten by just 3 points by Breadsall Primary. Congratulations to Breadsall - but most importantly, another fantastic night of gymnastics for our school!

  

• Y2 Gymnastics Champions!

  Our Year 2 Gymnasts finished as joint winners with Waingroves at Monday night's KS1 Gymnastics Competition. The seven girls who attended had to perform two routines on the floor and a vault in front of competitors and parents. Our girls showed that they had learned the routines fantastically and their performance was brilliant, which helped our school to win the competition for the second year running! Fantastic Gymnastics!

  

• Y3/4 Mini-Tennis Champions!

  Our Mini-Tennis team did us proud once again by winning the competition at Heanor! We have now won this competition for three consecutive years - what an amazing achievement! All four children won lots of games during Tuesday night’s event and helped Codnor Primary to lift the trophy once again. A terrific tennis team! We're so proud of you guys!

  

• WBD Potato Competition!

  After World Book Day was snowed off on Thursday 1st March, we managed to hold the Great Potato Competition on Monday 5th March instead! The potatoes held up well, having survived Sunday dinner. Click here to see some pictures!

• Christmas Fair Raises £1320.00!

  What an amazing total! Thank you to everyone who packed out the hall for our Christmas Fair - and to Friends of Codnor School (and other volunteers) for organising and running the event. The money raised will directly benefit our children.

  

• Poppy Appeal Record!

  In November, the three children in the picture below helped us to raise £503.79 for the Poppy Appeal. When the Poppy Distributor brought in the postcard (pictured below), he said that our school has raised the most of all the schools, offices, shops, pubs, etc. which he has supplied to in the Ripley area!  Also, as a whole, the Ripley area has raised a record-breaking amount this year. Thanks to our three brilliant Y6s for organising and selling so well, and of course to our community for their generous donations.

  

• Y5/6 Basketball Stars!

  We're very proud of our Y5/6 basketball team who, on Tuesday night, finished a fantastic second place in the AVSSP Basketball Competition at Aldercar. They were narrowly beaten in the final by Richardson Primary - nevertheless, they will progress to the borough finals after Christmas. Well done to all who participated and a big thank you to parents for supporting! Special thumbs up to Mandy White - thanks very much!

• Sports Update!

  We need to share these great photos with you - and also some great news! Our Y3/4 Athletics team recently WON the Sportshall Athletics competition at William Gregg, and in Rugby, our Y5/6 did a superb job at their Tag Rugby tournament, gaining a well-deserved 3rd place. We're really proud of our sports stars, and we'd like to add a THANKS to all of the adults who organised and helped to enable our children to take part.
