Eight of our Y2 children took part in this athletics competition, held at William Gregg in Heanor. Despite facing some stiff competition, they scored over 1000 points and were declared the winners - scoring almost double their closest rivals! Wow!
Here they are at William Gregg with their trophy, medals and certificates, and then back at school getting a great big 'congratulations!' in our Friday assembly. Well done, all! We're very proud of you! ![]()
On Monday 25th September, Derbyshire County Council will close Peverel House. That's the building on Mill Lane which provides one of the entrances to school and leads onto the Lower School car park. Because they are no longer maintaining the site, the council will not open the gates to allow access to school from Mill Lane. This is for heath, safety, and insurance reasons: the buildings, paths, trees and shrubbery will not be maintained. We know that in the past, people have regularly used the Peverel House gate to access school, and we regret that you will no longer be able to do so. This matter is out of our hands. The Peverel House site is completely separate from our school's site and out of our control. From Monday 25th September, no-one will be able to access school via the Mill Lane/Peverel House gate.
Please see the letter in the Class Letters section for more information.

Members of our local community braved the elements (some rather heavy showers!) to join us at this year's May Fair. Stalls, games and prizes and were on offer - as well as a performance on-stage by our Key Stage 1 dancers, a giant slide, arcade games programmed by Y5 children, and a smashing BBQ!
