Hello all,
Just a couple of pics from the Y6 Residential!
Friday 24th June is Y6 Enterprise day. The children will be selling home-made items such as cakes, sweets, jewellery, etc. Children from Nursery to Y6 will have the chance to visit the stalls, so if you would like to send your child in with a bit of pocket change, that would be lovely.
It's been a lovely afternoon celebrating The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022. Thanks to all the families who stayed around to celebrate with us, and to the wonderful team of Councillors who judged the art competition, gave out prizes, and a commemorative pin badge for all the children, who did some amazing artwork! There's a pic and a clip of the steel band at the link here, with more to follow. We hope you have a super half term holiday.
Well done to our fantastic netball team! Yesterday, after a couple of difficult first games, they certainly found their form, winning game after game. It all came down to a golden goal at the end of the final game - and Codnor nailed it! A brilliant result, netballers - well done, again.
The government has made Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) compulsory in primary schools. Following the RSE information we sent to parents, and the workshop we ran, we’d like your opinions on a few points. We’ll use your opinions to continue to develop our RSE offer, and to make sure that parents are informed about our RSE curriculum.
The survey is at this link. Thanks for your time.
Two of our children are organising a raffle to raise money for their Y6 Leavers' Party at the end of the school year. The draw is on Friday 15th April, and there are some wonderful Easter-themed prizes! See the flyer below for more info.
Dear all. We'd planned to have a school disco in the last week of term, but we have had to cancel that due to a rise in Amber Valley's COVID-19 cases, which is impacting school. We have to limit indoor gatherings with classes mixing, as much as we can. Anyone who has already bought a ticket for the disco will get a refund. Apologies for having to cancel. We hope you understand. Easter Film Night on Monday 4th April can still go ahead, as children will be in their own classrooms.
Happy Friday, all! Just a quick one to let you know that our community raised £390 for Comic Relief, and £110 for Ukraine. We've also seen some absolutely amazing costumes which made everyone smile! Brilliant - thank you. 👍🙂
Dear parents. The bad news is that today our upper school boiler has literally blown a gasket. We are hopeful that this will be repaired within the next couple of days. In order to avoid closing the upper school, we are asking you to please send your child warmly dressed (e.g. an extra warm fleece, and for outside, gloves, scarf and hat). We will keep windows closed, otherwise it would be too cold to stay open. Lower school heating is OK, but please be mindful that lower school children will eat their lunch in the upper school hall, so may need a warm fleece.
UPDATE: The heating is now repaired.
