For our topic on 'Super Me,' we enjoyed reading the book 'Supertato.' The Evil Pea had captured veggies in our classroom and we had to solve clues and write wanted posters to help capture him. We managed to trap the Evil Pea in jelly by the end of the story!
We went on a walk around the school to see what signs of Spring we could spot. As you can see from the photos, we found a lot!
As part of a whole school RE day, we had the chance to learn all about the festival of Diwali. We got to try on special costumes and eat dates as part of the celebrations.
We learnt all about the celebration of the Chinese New Year. We learnt all about how they decorated their homes in red and made signs of good luck. We tried hard at writing our own good luck messages!
We enjoyed reading the story 'Owl Babies.' We could say the repeating line from the story "I want my mummy" and we had a good try at writing speech bubbles of this phrase. We have done a god job!
We took part in national Nursery Rhyme week. We enjoyed singing and exploring a new rhyme every day. We sang;
The big ship sails...
5 little speckled frogs
1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive
Twinkle twinkle little star
B-I-N-G-O
We enjoyed celebrating the festival of Harvest. We joined in with our School community and made a scarecrow for the competition!
We went on an Autumn walk to collect leaves. We noticed that the leaves had changed colour and thought about why they were on the ground.
We loved reading the story 'Pete the cat.' We explored the strawberries and blueberries that he stepped in from the story by smelling them and tasting them!
We have had a great first week in Teddy Bears. We have had lots of fun exploring the environment and getting to know our new friends!
