Key Information

Reception Baseline Information

Your child will be participating in the reception baseline assessment (RBA) within the first 6 weeks of starting reception. The purpose of the assessment is to provide the starting point for a new measure that will help parents understand how well schools support their pupils to progress between reception and year 6 / the end of key stage 2. Parents will be provided with their child's report once baselines are completed.

Please read the document below for further information.

Reading at home

Children are given a reading book weekly and will read with an adult during the week so it is important your child brings their reading book in every day. Staff will comment in your child's reading record and parents can when they have read with their child.

Phonics

This year we have started the 'Little Wandle' systematic Phonics scheme. Children take part in daily Phonics sessions. Miss Marshall will be inviting parents to a Phonics workshop in the Autumn term in which more information will be given. Children will be given a fully decodable reading book weekly that matches their Phonics stage.

PE

Our PE day is Tuesday morning. Please ensure that children have a PE kit in school.

Class Dojo

We use the online system Class Dojo to share observations, learning and updates with you. All children across EYFS have received a login for Class Dojo. If you have any queries, please let a member of staff know.
