Y6 SATs (May 2016)

Testing time can be a testing time for children and teachers alike!
Everyone wants to do their best, and it's hard not to let stress and worry get the better of you!

Many of life's worries can be eased by a cooked breaky, a smashing brew, and a good laugh with your mates. Our Y6 children, staff and school governors who were overseeing the tests got together at 8.30 each morning for a delicious fry-up - expertly prepared by our fantastic catering supervisor, Mr Dymock.

The Mighty Tower of Beaker!

A bit of dancing, yoga and calming breathing exercises followed to get everyone in the mood to do their best on the test. Our expert PE and sports coach, Mr Webb, took charge.

Thursday 12th May marked the end of the SATs. We all got together to thank Mr Dymock for his help, support, and wonderful cooking over the week. He really liked his pressie and card.

Their tests over, Y6 relaxed with a game of football and some nibbles on the field.

Miss Plastow received this lovely card and a cake from one of our children's parents, who kindly agreed to let us publish it on our website. Next to it is a picture of Miss Plastow eating the cake and not sharing it with her colleagues. (That was a joke. We all got some really!) smiley Delicious cake with a lolly in the middle! Thanks very much!!

We’d like to add special thanks here to our school governors. From the opening of the papers to the final minutes, four of them volunteered to oversee and jointly invigilate the tests, help with administration, and offer support. Some of their written comments follow:

  • "The process was carried out in an exemplary way."
  • "Relaxed but still formal environment."
  • "The school gave every child the chance of success."
  • "Most impressed with how school handled the week."

WELL DONE, Y6!

WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!
