Hello and welcome to Teddy Bears Class. The class teacher is Mrs Hobson and the Teaching Assistant is Mrs Stocks.

We have lots of fun learning and exploring through play both inside and outside of the classroom! Please look through our class page below to find out more information about us and what we get up to in Nursery! 

Our PE days are a Monday and a Thursday, now we are in Summer 2, we invite the N2 Nursery children to bring a PE kit to be kept in school to help them begin to be independent in getting dressed by themselves. The N1 children can still come to school in their PE kits on these days. 

Our curriculum topic this half term is 'Around the World' and our question that we will be exploring is:

Literacy

To explore the World around us, we will be starting by retelling 'The 3 little pigs.' We shall learn the story through actions and think about the houses that they built. This will then take us on a journey around the World, visiting Africa in the story 'Handa's surprise.' We will also become pirates and travel around the World on a boat, with 'Pirates Love Underpants.'

Maths

This half term we are going continue to be looking at shape and measures.

We will describe a familiar route around school, as well as looking at the route the big bad wolf took in the 3 little pigs. We will be exploring weight by weight and comparing fruits from Handa's Surprise. We will explore position by reading 'Rosie's Walk' and making a small obstacle course and exploring patterns also. 

Understanding The World

We are lucky to have some visitors in this half term. Jungle Jo will be showing us animals from all over the World, and we will learn to look after farm animals when the Farm comes to visit. We will be learning about different cultures when we read 'Handa's Surprise' and learning about how forces work when travelling around the World. 

We love to sing!

We have been learning different songs that have linked to our topics this half term. We have learnt a song about pirates, transport and the 7 continents!
